What the EIAT is
The Elevator Industry Aptitude Test is the written paper NEIEP sets for applicants to an IUEC elevator apprenticeship. NEIEP's free official study guide describes 100 multiple-choice questions on paper (35 reading comprehension, 35 mechanical aptitude and 30 mathematics), and its FAQ gives 70% as the minimum passing grade for moving on to the interview.
NEIEP's example math questions are built to be worked by hand: decimals, fractions, mixed numbers and order of operations, which most of us have not done on paper in years. There is also a tool assessment, and NEIEP says correct answers on it count toward your interview score.
